Exciting news! I'm honored to take on a pivotal role as Vice-Chair (non-elected) of the King County Board of Health in 2024. This dynamic board, comprising both elected and non-elected officials, plays a crucial role in safeguarding the health of over 2 million residents in King County.

In the absence of the Chair, I'll be actively involved in setting agendas and preparing meeting materials, ensuring the smooth flow of our vital discussions. Our responsibilities are broad and impactful, focusing on supervising the health of the community, collaborating with health authorities to set annual work plans, and enacting regulations to preserve, promote, and improve public health.

The Board's commitment to a racial equity approach in policymaking resonates deeply with me. It's a pledge to create inclusive, fair, and effective health policies that address the diverse needs of our community.

The King County Board of Health's authority extends to enacting local rules, preventing the spread of disease, and enforcing public health laws. This role is not just a title; it's a commitment to the well-being of our community.

I'm thrilled to embark on this journey, and I'm eager to contribute to the Board's mission of preserving, promoting, and protecting public health in King County. Let's champion health equity and make a lasting impact together!
