Hey, amazing community!
I am beyond thrilled to announce that I’ve joined Fbomb Angels, a dynamic angel investing group dedicated to empowering women-led startups. At Fbomb Angels, we are passionate about investing in early-stage companies founded or co-founded by women because we believe that investing in women isn't just the right thing to do—it's smart business.
My path to becoming an angel investor has been nothing short of extraordinary. At 16, I faced homelessness and grew up in an environment where financial literacy and business know-how were foreign concepts. As an African American woman, I wasn’t taught about investing, securing investors, or the complexities of entrepreneurship. Despite these challenges, my desire to learn, grow, and make a difference in my community never faltered.
Building and expanding Childress Nursing Services, Seattle’s leading fertility and maternity reproductive home healthcare company, has been a testament to my dedication to providing Complete Nurturing Solutions to women and their families from pre-conception to post-delivery. This journey has gifted me with invaluable insights into the business world and a passion for sharing this knowledge with others.
Joining Fbomb Angels marks a significant milestone in my journey. Bucket list—✅! It gives me the incredible opportunity to invest in the dreams of other women who are making a profound impact in the world. I’m eager to support and uplift fellow female entrepreneurs, helping to create a future where women-led businesses flourish.
This fall, I’m diving into my first project with Fbomb Angels, disrupting the status quo with the incredible class of fellow investors in Pitches 2 Bitches 8 (P2B-8)—the wildly supportive business competition where women entrepreneurs pitch to women investors for early-stage business support. We’re on the lookout for pre-seed companies ready for growth, founded and run by women with a meaningful connection to the Pacific Northwest.
